New class - Introduction to Hot Glass Flameworking -About the instructor: Jose Fernando Santisteban has a BFA in Literature from Vanderbilt University and an MFA in Glass Sculpture from RIT in Rochester NY. He began working with glass in 1999 when he moved from Nashville to Seattle. From there he moved on to NY where he began to study many different techniques revolving around glass. A defining moment in his education was when he studied in Venice, Italy, the mecca of glass. Most recently he has been working in his studio and raising a beautiful baby boy (Felix). Introduction to Lampworking will be presented as a one-day class by glass artist Jose Santiseban, in conjunction with Tindell's Restoration Schools. This fun day will cover the basics of lampworking, the art of shaping glass in fire. Students will acquire the skills to create beads, ornaments and pendants as well as a strong foundation for the construction of private studios & include safety.
